Be The Good Soil

- Mark 4 -

Happy Sunday to you all

“Praise the Lord who heals the broken-hearted.” The world is filled with sorrow and tears mourning, and cries of pain can be heard everywhere. Lives are lost every day in the worst of ways. Bad and sad news is proclaimed everywhere, and messengers of doom have filled the land. Today, Job reminds us of the shortness of our lives and of the toughness of our days. Our days are nothing but hard labor and pain. But there is a divine call given to us all to change and renew the face of the earth through the preaching of the gospel. We are called to bring the good news to people everywhere and put an end to their suffering by healing them and casting out the demons that torment them. Preaching the Word is for all of us, a duty and an obligation. Whether we do it freely or not, we have to do it, and failure to do it will lead to us losing our reward. If we choose to preach the word and heal the world, we, too, will benefit from the same healing and joy. We have to counter the agents of bad news and overtake them so that the people who sit in darkness can see the light and rejoice in the hope and joy it brings. Jesus, today leads the way by healing all who were brought to him and freeing them from their various demons. He brought joy into Simon’s house by casting out the sickness that filled it with sadness, and he filled the town with joy by casting out the demons that held them captive. We, too, must work to heal those we meet and free them from their own demons and restore them. The world today is full of demons of various kinds, amongst which are the demons of oppression and poverty that have enslaved the people in sadness. It is our duty to bring the good news of joy and freedom to them. To do this, we must go to the father in prayer to seek strength and ability to proclaim his Word with power and free the lives of the people. But also, we must be careful as we do this not to be caught in the chains of praises and fame, but stay focused and move ahead carrying the Word to all who need it. Be a missionary for God at the service of the Gospel.
