Be The Good Soil

- Mark 4 -

Philip and James were both apostles of Christ who served the early Church faithfully.

St Philip was known for his enthusiasm, bringing his friend Nathanael to Jesus and arranging for Greek Gentiles to meet Him. He also had a practical mindset, as seen when he questioned how to feed a large crowd.

St James, also known as James the Less, was the son of Alphaeus and believed to have been the first bishop of Jerusalem. He continued to preach the Gospel after Jesus’ death and is traditionally identified as the author of the Epistle of James. James met a martyr’s death in Jerusalem around AD 62. Both apostles played important roles in spreading the message of Jesus and strengthening the early Church. Their dedication and martyrdom are examples of faith and commitment to the Catholic community.
