When we honor the Blessed Virgin, we are simply commending ourselves to Jesus, and we are putting our trust in the most sure means of finding Jesus.” – St. Thomas Aquinas
What is a Marian Consecration?
It a personal vow when you dedicate yourself to Jesus through the Blessed Virgin Mary as a way to deepen the relationship with her and grow closer to Jesus. It is a voluntary act of devotion. It is a way to seek her motherly protection, guidance, and assistance on our spiritual journey towards God.
What is a private vow?
It is like making a personal promise to God or a saint. It’s a way to show your dedication to a specific part of your spiritual life and deepen your faith.
Which saint started this devotion?
In the 1660’s, St. Louis de Montfort introduced devotion to Mary during his missionary work in western France. “True Devotion to Mary,” emphasizes the advantages of consecrating oneself to Our Lady and provides a detailed outline on how to do so.
How does one prepare for this consecration?
Preparation is done through a 33-day preparation with a specific reflection and a set of prayers for each day.
Why is it 33 days?
It symbolizes Jesus’ 33 years on here on Earth.
