Be The Good Soil

- Mark 4 -

St. Casimir, also known as Casimir Jagiellon, was a prince and crown prince of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. He was born in 1458 as the third child of King Casimir IV of Poland and Elizabeth of Austria. Despite being in line to inherit the throne, St. Casimir preferred a life of piety and humility.

St. Casimir was known for his deep devotion to God, his commitment to prayer and fasting, and his care for the poor and sick. He lived a life of chastity and virtue, and his compassion and generosity towards others earned him a reputation as a saintly prince.

St. Casimir died at the young age of 25 in 1484, and he was canonized as a saint by Pope Leo X in 1522. He is now revered as the patron saint of Poland and Lithuania, as well as of young people and bachelors.

Today the Church remembers him for his example of faith, humility, and selflessness. May we strive to follow in his footsteps and imitate his virtues in our own lives.

St. Casimir, pray for us.
